Field trip at the Reed Reservation in Sic
On third November the students from the Environmental protection and monitoring visited the Reed Reservation in Sic by dr. István Urák.
The compact reed from the Reed Reservation in Sic represents the second reed massif with the largest surface in Romania, after the Danube Delta. It is a 505 ha of complex nature reserve that includes distinct areas like the reed massif of the Sicului Valley (220 ha), the marginal salt soil habitats, pastures and hayfields. This mosaic of ecosystems supports a special biodiversity.
