Participative scenario planning exercise with Polish ecologists, led by teacher from our Department

At 8-11 december Tibor Hartel, invited by Prof. Piotr Tryjanowski, from the Zoological Institute of the Poznan University, Poland, give a lecture, then a seminar about social-ecological systems.

This were followed by a seminar by Prof. Tryjanowski about chaotic systems as well as the importance of scenario planning for nature conservation (see here). At the third day, during a whole day workshop, 27 ecologists from Poland run a participative scenario exercise to respond to the questin: 'How the future of ecology will look like in 30 years in Poland?' The results of this workshop will be published in an academic journal.

Third-year students at a study programme at Budapest

At the end of February (19-24), third-year students of the Environmental Science Department visited Budapest as part of the Makovecz Programme. The main organiser of the study trip was Professor Tamás Weiszburg.

19th Edition of the Environmental Science Conference in the Carpathian Basin

This year the conference on environmental sciences will be held in Debrecen (Hungary), at the Research Centre for Nuclear Sciences on April, 3-5th, 2024. The call is available for professors, researchers, students and PhD students, as well.
