Professional education in three scenes – First part: practical training on site in the Munţii Apuseni

During the period 16-18 November the students and the teachers of the Department of Environmental Sciences of the University Sapientia Cluj Napoca took part in a practical training on site in the Munţii Apuseni. The activity was organized by the Association Enviro Scientia and it was financially supported by the Bethlen Gabor Foundation. The target and in the same time the title of the practical training and of the events included into it was: A need of raw materials and the protection of the environment.

The main camp was set up at Rimetea, in Alba County at the foot of the limestone hill named Piatra Secuiului. During the three days the participants visited the following places: Piatra Secuiului, the iron mine shafts in the neighbourhood of Rimetea, the valley of the Arieşul River, the tailing dump in the valley of Şese, Abrud, the mining area of Roşia Montana, Roşia Poieni and Masca-Băişoara.
