Report of a field trip to Brad
In the morning of the 16th of April, 2013, the students of the 2nd year of the Department of Environmental Sciences visited the city of Brad under the supervision of Szende Tonk, lecturer of the faculty.
Their first stop was the firm Transvital Ltd., a company producing dietary supplements. Here the students got acquainted with the various production methods and materials, as well as a range of packing and labeling equipments which prepared these products for mass commercialization. After visiting the two production halls, the group of students headed for their next visiting target.
The second objective was the Museum of Gold in Brad. Here one could admire an exposition of native gold, various minerals and mineral combinations, considered unique pieces from the viewpoint of both their geological combination and their colour. This museum is certainly worth being visited whether you are a professional or simply interested in the marvels of nature.
After a short lunch break, the group left Brad and headed towards Cluj. One of the most fascinating questions intriguing all participants on this way back home was whether one of the pieces exposed in the museum, called the golden lizard, was indeed 3 million dollars worth...
