The study tour in Pécs
The study tour was organized by Kinga Szacsvai and Tamás Neda. In the trip took part all three groups from the Environmental Sciences Department. The seen was an experience for the following courses from the second and third academic years of study: Environmental Physics I, Unconventional energy resources and environmental radioactivity.
The first step of the tour included a visit to Budapest Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias' fairytale church. Then came the crossing of the Chain Bridge, walked along the Váci street in Pest, the Elizabeth Bridge and then we returned to the bus and continued our journey to Pécs.
After six in the evening we arrived to Pécs where in the Márton Áron College the local students welcomed us with hot tea, wine and dinner.
The next day, Wednesday the 12 th of December after breakfast, at half past eight, the bus took us to the Boda high-level radioactive waste dump proposed site.
Then we returned to Pécs and the first stop was the South Transdanubian Regional Library and Knowledge Centre. We visited the library management and multi-level multi-disciplinary departments. After that, in beautiful sunshine, we participate at sightseeing in the center of Pécs.
Then we went to the neighboring Szentágothai Research Centre, where we listened two lectures on natural history: one of the brain's emotional reactions to a variety of spoke mostly visual impacts, and the other is the research center for microbiological research. This was followed by visiting of the microbiological research center.
On the third day, Thursday the 13th, the first stopping point was Bátaapáti nuclear site, from where we went to the Paks Nuclear Power Plant. We arrived in Cluj late night.
