This year many of our students participated at the traditional summer field works, organized in Greece, in the period of 25th May – 3th June. The aim of the journey was to study the Mediterranean wild life, and the chemical composition of the Aegean Sea.

Between the 11^th and the 15^th of May 2018 we participated at an international field trip in the Fertő-Hanság National Park, at which – besides our teachers and students from the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania (Romania) – the representatives of the Eötvös Loránd University (Hungary), the II. Rákóczi Ferenc University (Ukraine) and the Selye János University (Slovakia) also took part.

The Szent István University from Gödöllő, Hungary hosted the XIVth edition of the Conference on the Environmental Sciences in the Carpathian Basin, which was held on 5-7 April, 2018.

On 14th of February our collegue Zsigmond Andrea-Rebeka, PhD, will hold a scientific presentation entitled Trace elements - the salts of life.

On 4th december, 2017 our invited speaker at the Academic Evening series is Sik András, PhD. His presentation is entitled When will we find life on Mars?

The XXVIIIth edition of the biology competition "Herman Ottó" is organized for the VIIth and VIIIth grade Hungarian speaking pupils who are studying in the Carpathian Basin. The competition at the regional level of Transylvania will take place in our faculty on 10th March, 2018.

With the occasion of the 8th edition of the Hungarian Cultural Days of Cluj the Transylvanian Museum Society organized a series of scientific presentations on the topic OUR BLUE GOLD – THE WATER. One of the invited speakers is our colleague, biologist, Szigyártó Lídia, PhD.

We made a movie about the filed trip in Greece.

Kántor Izolda, Varga Krisztina and Szabó Ágota won the first prize, Rákossy Izabella the second prize at the Environmental Science section. Congratulations for the students end their professors!
