The Admissions Guide for 2016 has appeared
This year our Department announces the Environmental Science BSc with 13 places without study fee and 12 places with contribution to the study fee. In the case of accreditation, this year will start the Environmental Protection and Monitoring MSc with 5 places whithout study fee and 10 places with contribution to the study fee.

Buczkó Krisztina, PhD, algologist of the Hungarian Museum of Natural Sciences from Budapest, visited our Department
On the 25th of November, in one of our Department’s Academic Evenings, Buczkó Krisztina, PhD, algologist of the Hungarian Museum of Natural Sciences talked about her environmental reconstruction studies based on diatom fossils found in Transylvanian lake sediments (Lake Saint Anna, different lakes in the Retezat Mountains), beginning with the Mesozoic Era till the Antropocene.

On November 17, the Pogány-havas Association, BirdLife Europe and the European Forum on Nature Conservation and Pastoralism jointly held a policy seminar at the European Parliament targeting the wood-pastures within the context of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

The purpose of their visit, which took place between 6-14 November, was the renewal of the collaboration between our Departments, elaboration of a joint Master's study program, research and lectures.

Laboratory works at the Eötvös Loránd University
On 22 and 23 of October 2015, the 3rd year Environmental Science students carried out a series of laboratory works at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, as part of their Green Chemistry course, such as the microwave assisted synthesis of aspirin and the green synthesis of para-bromo-acetanilide. We are thankful for this possibility!

The 11th Edition of the Carpathian Basin Conference on Environmental Science, Pécs, 6–9th May 2015
Between the 6th and 9th of May 2015 the 11th Edition of the Carpathian Basin Conference on Environmental Science took place in Pécs, Hungary, organized by the University of Pécs and the Faculty of Sciences and Arts of the Sapientia University from Cluj. Teachers and students of the Environmental Science Department of the Sapientia University contributed in a significant number with presentations in different sessions.
